With the purpose to disseminate the culture of protection of intellectual property in their companies, Eletrobras entered into an agreement of Technical Cooperation with the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI). The agreement provides the settlement of partnerships for the implementation of a program of courses, seminars, lectures, thematic meetings and actions to support innovation and protection of industrial property.
 
The partnership is an action arising from the Research Policy, Development and Innovation of Eletrobras System. Approved in 2009, the policy established as a joint target, the obtainment of gains equivalent to 2% of net operating revenue with projects of P&D+I up to the end of 2012.
 
The actions expected in agreement entered with INPI, starting in August, shall enable the awareness and training of the employees of Eletrobras companies on topics related to industrial property such as patents, trademarks, technology prospection and monitoring, among others. "So, we expect the effective participation of employees in the improvement of products and processes of Eletrobras companies, generating increasing of competitiveness, economic profits and technical advantages arising from the protection of industrial property," explains the Eletrobras Technology director, Ubirajara Rocha Meira.
